How to use Scandinavian furniture in every room of your home
Scandi style has a certain magic to it. It’s all about clean lines, functional furniture and natural textures that bring a calm, cosy feel to your space.
But if you’re wondering how that actually translates into real rooms in a real home, you’re not alone. It’s one thing to admire it on Pinterest, it’s another to bring it to life without the whole place feeling like a showroom.
Whether you’re starting from scratch or just looking to add a few Nordic-inspired touches, I’ll take you room by room, with a little help from Impact Furniture, to share our top picks, styling tips, and a few of our favourite accessories to help you nail the look.
Not sure what Scandi style is? Impact Furniture’s Scandi style guide might be able to help.
How to style your living room with Scandinavian furniture
First, let’s start with the walls. Make your lounge feel homely and chic with light grey walls, lots of beautiful houseplants, and some feature furniture.
Go for pieces that are functional and stylish. A low-profile sofa in a soft grey or muted beige works beautifully, especially with simple wooden legs to keep things feeling light. Think about a coffee table with built-in storage, a sleek sideboard or a display cabinet in oak or white.

The Loksa Display cabinet gives beautiful Scandi-ethos to the space with its white wood, contrasting black handles and its legs that lift it off the floor. It has plenty of storage and the glass display means you can show off your favourite Scandi decor.
Combine black and white art prints with a slim black frame to match the black handles on the cabinet. You can introduce black in other ways too. How about a black plant pot that holds a monstera or pothos? Or maybe add a plant with white flowers, like a peace lily, to welcome natural contrast to the sideboard.
Finally, add a simple light-coloured rug underneath. Rugs are an essential part of Scandi, especially those that are made from natural materials like jute.
How to style your hallway with Scandinavian furniture

A starker grey paint helps keep this space more utilitarian – perfect for a transitional space such as a hallway. The Alameda Shelf and wall hooks add practical but subtle storage and brings the functional storage that is key to Scandi furniture.
White gloss, wood effect and LED lights are all hallmarks of Scandi aesthetics. All you would need to do to style this is just make sure your coats, bags and shoes are tidy. The furniture speaks for itself!
How to style your dining room with Scandinavian furniture
Amp up the natural touches with light limewashed walls, wood floors, solid wood dining chairs, natural art prints and a stone effect tabletop balanced perfectly by the white legs of the Mufo table. Best of all, the table is extendable, so when not in use, it doesn’t take up that much room!

To nail the Scandi look, you need to use lots of natural woods. That’s why this dining room works so well. There is wooden flooring, wooden wall panelling, wooden doors, table legs and even wood in the light! White is also an essential part of Scandinavian minimalism, so be sure to introduce plenty of white features, including walls and soft furnishings.
You can style your table with wicker or wooden place mats and coasters, and a coloured glass vase would add lovely visual contrast to the table and walls. You could have fresh flowers or greenery in the vase, or add a few sprigs of pampas grass and baby’s breath for longevity!
How to style your kitchen with Scandinavian furniture
I know, I said white was a necessity for Scani. But move away from the white in the kitchen to add some character, especially if you have a kitchen-diner, as too much white can leave a space feeling washed out and empty!

The Nora Kitchen offers copious storage, plenty of cupboards and stunning copper handles. The navy blue slab doors with pops of copper helps the space feel luxurious but homely, and I love a blue kitchen that has wooden touches for warmth, including in the splashbacks, the flooring and the wooden worktops.
You might be thinking, “How is a blue kitchen Scandi? I thought Scandi was all white and oak!”, you’d be half right. Scandi is about clean lines, natural textures, functionality and cosiness.
By adding natural wood textures and making your space functional, you’ve captured the Scandi-ethos. Add light coloured walls (you could go all blue & colour drench the room!) or a nice bright white to add some contrast. Complement the wall colour with a similarly coloured rug to complete your Scandi kitchen.
How to style your bathroom with Scandinavian furniture

Limewashed walls have been a big trend in 2024 and 2025, and I love how this looks with the gold accessories and fluted doors on the sink.
The rounded mirror, sink and unit corners give a natural feel, and you can (and should) add a bit more nature with houseplants.
These plants do more than just look good. They actually work hard to purify your bathroom and can even prevent mould from growing.
