Using Artwork in the Home

Using Artwork in the Home

I’ve been after some artwork for our home for so long, and struggled to know what I wanted. Using artwork in the home isn’t always the easiest task.

Artwork was on my list as the last thing to add to our home. All our walls have been newly plastered so we wanted to get all our furniture and accessories in place first before we starting putting nails in the walls, only to have to move the artwork later.

So once all our furniture was in, and I’d covered every surface with accessories such as candles, photo frames, and fairy lights, I knew it was time to start thinking about using artwork in the home. This is where Desenio comes in.

Finding the right artwork

The first big task was finding something I love. Desenio has such a huge range of posters, from photographs, to abstract art, to nature. They have EVERYTHING. I wasn’t sure what I wanted but I knew the general colours I wanted to go for (darker greens). I decided to go for some sort of photography print instead of a painting. So I chose this pair of prints.

Here’s a better photo from the Desenio website without so much reflection on the darker one:

One is called Forest and the other is Night Lake. I loved the light and dark in them. They compliment each other enough. I wanted something with darkness as it adds depth to the wall.

I also needed a print for our kitchen. There was a blank space on our wall which was the perfect space for this 30x40cm Coffee Menu print which I adore!

It fits perfectly and I love the cafe vibe it has.
