Reviewing the Simba mattress topper

Doesn’t it feel like we’re all after one ultimate goal that sometimes feels unachievable? Yep, a good night’s sleep. What does a good night’s sleep even mean?

An uninterrupted 8 hours? Even an uninterrupted 5 hours would be appreciated by some. I know when Hallie was a newborn, 5 hours was a great night!

If you’re like me, you might have tried everything. The right room temperature. A soft pillow. A firm pillow. Mindfulness before bed. A thinner duvet. A thicker duvet. There are so many options nowadays.

Often, it’s your mattress that’s the problem. But with a new one costing upwards of £500, surely there’s a better and more eco friendly alternative?

Enter the Simba Hybrid®matress topper, a marvel of comfort engineering that promises to transform your night’s sleep. If you’re wondering whether a mattress topper can be a good choice for you, find out how we got on with ours and if it’s worth the money (hint: it is!)

The comfort factor

First and foremost, let’s talk about comfort.

The Simba Hybrid® mattress topper boasts a luxurious blend of materials that are designed to cradle your body and offer maximum support.

The top layer features Simba’s patented Simbatex® foam, which offers the perfect balance of support and cushioning. The foam has an open-cell structure so that air can flow more effectively between your body and the topper. This prevents overheating and a hot, sweaty back in the summer months. It even contains naturally occurring graphite to further improve temperature control.

Whether you’re a side sleeper, back sleeper or somewhere in between, this mattress topper contours to your body’s unique shape, providing unparalleled comfort throughout the night. Say goodbye to restless tossing and turning and wake up feeling refreshed and ready to seize the day.

Plus, the hypoallergenic properties make it ideal for allergy sufferers, providing peace of mind and uninterrupted sleep.

The features we love

Below are just some of the features that make the Simba mattress topper so good:

  • 1500 Aerocoil® Springs
  • Removable, washable cover
  • Simbatex® foam comfort layers
  • Free from CFCs
  • Made in the UK from 100% recyclable materials.

One of my favourite features is its advanced motion isolation technology. If you share your bed with a restless partner (or a furry friend), you’ll appreciate how this mattress topper minimises motion transfer. My husband won’t mind me saying he is a wriggly sleeper so this has been a dream for me! He turns over what feels like every 10 minutes but with the new topper, I notice this much less.

How durable is the Simba mattress topper?

You’re probably wondering whether the Simba mattress topper will last as long as a mattress. While I don’t have the answer (yet!), it’s made from high-quality materials and expert craftsmanship, so it is built to last.

From its robust construction to its resilient support, every aspect of the design exudes durability and longevity. Rest assured, your investment in the Simba Hybrid® Essential is one that will pay dividends for years to come.

In addition to its comfort and durability, the Simba Hybrid® mattress topper also earns top marks for convenience. Easy to install and effortless to maintain, it’s the perfect addition to any bed. The four corners prevent it from moving around on top of your existing mattress, and the removable, machine-washable cover makes cleaning a breeze, ensuring that your sleep environment remains fresh and hygienic.

Packaging and installation

The mattress topper arrived in a vacuum-packed box ready to be cut open. Once the air gets to it, the mattress instantly begins to rise.

We did this in the afternoon so it had plenty of time to rise by the time we went to bed.

Once on, we put our usual mattress protector over the top, followed by a fitted sheet. With the added depth of the mattress topper, you will need to buy an extra deep fitted sheet to ensure it fits properly and doesn’t come loose in the night.

Then we had some obligatory playing on the bed with Hallie!

So far, we’ve been really happy with the Simba mattress topper. I’ll update this article once we’ve tried it for quite a few months (including in the summer to see how effective it is at cooling).
