We’re already into July, and what a scorcher it’s been! And of course a new month brings a new Property of the Month here at Dream of Home.
July’s pick is a truly incredible property that I couldn’t not share with you. We’re heading out of Chester and into the lush, green heart of the Cheshire countryside.
Welcome to Hall O’Coole*, a staggeringly beautiful Georgian manor located just outside Nantwich. If you’ve ever dreamed of a Downton Abbey-style escape (with a hot tub, no less), this might just be the staycation of your dreams.
This Grade-II listed, six-bedroom property sleeps 12, making it the perfect pick for a celebration, family reunion, or group getaway where style and space matter. From the sweeping private driveway to the classic sash windows and beautifully manicured grounds, Hall O’Coole feels every bit the country estate—just with a few more creature comforts.
What makes Hall O’Coole special?
Okay that’s a silly question. I should say, ‘What doesn’t make Hall O’Coole special?’. Honestly, everything about this building is incredible, but here’s a few reasons why it could be your next holiday home*:
1. Grand interiors with a contemporary twist
The interiors are some of the most stunning examples of luxury design I’ve seen. The bathrooms are literally scroll-stopping.
Step inside and it’s all elegant fireplaces, panelled walls and herringbone floors, but with modern touches that make the space feel inviting rather than intimidating. The living spaces are made for gathering, whether it’s over a glass of wine in the wood-panelled lounge or a game night in the drawing room. I particularly love the subtle mix of antique-style furniture and clean, contemporary finishes—it’s heritage without the heavy.
2. A kitchen designed for hosting
We’ve all heard that the heart of every home is the kitchen, but this is literally true for Hall O’Coole. It has an enormous kitchen island, a full wall of cabinetry in case you plan on bringing every item in your home, and all the mod cons you could ever need for group catering.
There’s also a handy utility room, so clutter stays hidden and everything has its place (a blessing when you’re staying in a full house).
3. Six serene bedrooms, each with its own charm
The bedrooms are spread across two floors and are as peaceful as you’d hope in such a tranquil setting. Soft colour palettes, plush bedding and generous proportions make each one feel like a master suite. One even features a freestanding roll-top bath in the bedroom itself for that added touch of luxury.
4. The ultimate country garden
Step outside and you’re in your own slice of the Cheshire countryside. The garden is immaculate, with formal lawns, a dining terrace and – my favourite feature – a private hot tub tucked away to soak under the stars. There’s even a bubbling stream running through the grounds, adding to the rural idyll.
What’s more, it has a swimming pool—these are rare to find in properties in Cheshire*—and a moat.
5. A peaceful location with easy access to Nantwich and Chester
While Hall O’Coole feels wonderfully secluded, it’s only a 10-minute drive from the market town of Nantwich, known for its black-and-white Tudor buildings and independent shops. A little further afield, you’ve got Chester, the Shropshire Union Canal and even the Peak District within reach.
Whether you’re planning a summer celebration or just fancy a break somewhere truly special, Hall O’Coole combines all the charm of a country house stay with the ease and comfort of a modern holiday home.
