Welcome to Wheelwrights Cottage*, a proper little gem in Beeston, perfect for couples, friends or small families looking for a classic country break with modern comfort.

I’ve chosen this as my Property of the Month, purely because I still feel all Christmassey, and it’s giving The Holiday cottage vibes, only on a much bigger scale!

A warm welcome awaits

From the moment you arrive and spot the rose-framed doorway you’ll feel like you’re somewhere a bit special. This detached 18th-century cottage has been lovingly restored to blend traditional charm with thoughtful touches for a relaxing stay. Inside you’ve got beautifully cosy living spaces with two open fires, exposed beams and a sitting room that just begs you to curl up with a book from the little library corner.

The kitchen/diner is equally welcoming. Imagine tucking into a full English breakfast around a wooden table with the fire crackling close by, and evening dinners washed down with a glass of something nice. It’s a proper home-away-from-home.

Unwind and sleep tight

Sleeps up to four guests, with a comfy double bedroom that has its own en-suite shower, plus a twin room, both beautifully styled and super comfortable. There’s also a family bathroom with a freestanding bath if you fancy soaking off the day’s countryside walks.

The cottage has all the practical bits you need too — a utility with washing machine, dishwasher in the kitchen, smart TV for cosy nights in, and Wi-Fi throughout.

Garden, countryside and lovely local pubs

Outdoors, you’ll find a pretty enclosed garden with lawn and outdoor furniture, a brilliant spot for morning coffee or an evening tipple while your four-legged friend enjoys a sniff around (this place really is dog-friendly). There’s off-road parking for one car, too.

Step outside the garden gates and you’re in proper countryside territory, with Beeston Castle looming nearby and plenty of glorious walking trails on your doorstep. Pop into the nearby pubs like The Pheasant Inn or The Shady for classic pub grub and a pint after a day out.
