6 reasons why you should mount your TV

The number of televisions in homes across the UK has been continually going up every year. Did you know, in 2020, almost 27 million homes had a TV? We use them to stream movies, watch live channels, stay up to date with our favourite YouTubers, listen to the radio, put on background music on Spotify, and more.

It’s for this reason that they’ve become a huge part of our home decor, and our living rooms tend to be laid out so that all the furniture points directly at the television. This makes them the central focal point of the room. So of course, you want them to look neat and tidy.

Mounting your television with TV brackets can be beneficial for so many reasons. Below, I’ve listed the top 6 reasons why you should mount your television instead of putting it on a stand.

It takes up less space

Modern televisions are very slim, usually around 5cm thick, which is great, until you factor in a thick 40cm deep television stand to place it on. These take up a lot of additional space that you might not have room for, especially if you live in a small flat or house.

Therefore, mounting your TV on a wall instead of putting it on a stand could save you a lot of space. A mount will tuck the TV out of the way, too, when you’re not watching it.

Looks neat and tidy

Our homes usually have enough clutter as it is, and then to add to that, there’s the DVD players, extension cables, speaker systems and more for your television. When mounting your TV on the wall, you can plan a space for all the cables and television boxes so that they’ll be hidden behind it once it’s up.

This means you don’t have to look at messy appliances or cables hanging down, and your TV area will look really neat and tidy.

Cheaper than buying a stand

Mounting a TV bracket is much more cost effective than buying a new TV stand. A stand can cost hundreds of pounds, plus there are tons to choose from so the process can be a bit daunting. You need to choose one that’s practical, that you like, that will fit the space, that’s made from the right materials, and more.

But you can’t see a TV mount, so you can simply buy one that your TV will fit onto, and they’re usually cheaper than buying a stand.

If your living room has a lot of windows, or maybe even a set of patio doors, it’s likely that someone will be able to see their reflection or experience glare. This can definitely impact your watching experience.
